Any Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman fans out there? In the 90s, that show was one of my favorites. Since then, I've grown in my understanding of tropes, representation, and Native American rights and I definitely have critiques. That being said, the character "Sully", played by Joe Lando, was my little 10 year old crush. I thought he was so handsome and daring and righteous. Though not my "first love" or even my "first crush", I think Byron Sully deserves a good ode. Byron, did you catch that? The characters first name was revealed to be Byron. I love it. Shout out to Amy Kay Poetry for an other fabulous prompt. It's a true confession to a lie I remember telling. It was all so confusing and in the end, I felt like that's what it was.
Back to the farm we go - thanks in part to the prompt for today from Amy Kay Poetry. Her prompt "what delights you and the places that you long for? What qualifies as paradise in your eyes." Image credit: Cally Lawson on Pixabay
The prompt again was from Amy Kay Poetry on Instagram. The charge was to go find a social media account that posted "overheard" statements. I chose to go to twitters OverheardMpls and I got a good one.
It's April Fool's Day and also the first day of National Poetry Month so I thought I'd get a little silly and serious. Shout out to AmyKayPoetry on instagram and her poetry prompt today "Write a Self-Potrait As....". Second shout out to google for the autofill. I typed in "I'm a..." and I got "banana" as one of the responses. Here's what you get: Image credit: Neo Tam on Pixabay
